The CCRESA and NC Central University have teamed together to support future school administrators with the Central Carolina Principal Preparation Program (CCP3)!

Teacher leaders from each CCRESA member district will be given the opportunity to earn their Masters of School Administration from NCCU, be on track for a school leadership position, and receive executive coaching and relevant PD for the first two years as an administrator in a high need school. All of this will be free of charge through a forgivable loan and made possible through the NC Principal Fellows Program.

CCP3 in Action

Goal & Impact of CCP3

CCP3 addresses the critical shortage of school leaders in North Carolina by partnering with districts to identify and prepare high-potential teachers for administrative roles. Over four years, candidates earn their MSA, complete an internship, and receive two years of executive coaching to ensure their success. The program builds a strong pipeline of leaders who are ready to manage schools effectively, support teachers, and create positive outcomes for students and families.

Recruitment with Purpose

Our program selects a highly competitive cohort of teacher-leaders nominated by superintendents and vetted through rigorous scenario- and behavior-based interviews. Graduates emerge with the emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and instructional expertise needed to lead complex school environments. These fellows are prepared to make meaningful, transformative impacts on students, faculty, and their school communities.

Current CCP3 Principal Fellows Experiences

The leadership team at CCP3 strives to support and inspire every participant who comes through the program. NC Principal Fellows share their experiences with the CCP3 program. These current and aspiring school leaders offer insights and reflect on the impact of the program on their professional and personal growth.

MSA Program Design

The MSA program at North Carolina Central University develops transformational school leaders through culturally responsive preparation, combining strong foundations in law and instructional leadership with a year-long internship and action research to drive real school improvement.

Executive Coaching

One of the standout features of CCP3 is our comprehensive postgraduate support system. During your initial two years as a school administrator, CCP3 provides the invaluable resource of a dedicated executive coach. These dedicated coaches are readily available for one-on-one support, assisting you in navigating any challenges that may arise during your journey.

Program Preparedness

By joining CCP3, educators gain the tools and support needed to build cultural awareness in schools and classrooms. Our program empowers them to acknowledge and value the varied backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences of their students, creating a learning environment where all individuals feel respected and supported. CCP3 is committed to preparing school leaders to serve in any NC public school.
